November 2025
November: The Season of Cozy Gatherings
There’s a quiet kind of magic that settles in this time of year. The light turns syrupy, the days feel slower, and even in Florida, there’s a small shift in the air — enough to make me crave sweaters, candlelight, and a pot of something simmering on the stove.
November has always felt like a pause button. The world softens, and suddenly we remember what matters most — cozy dinners, long conversations, and that feeling of belonging that comes from spending time with people who know you best.
For me, it’s the month where my creativity slows just enough to feel intentional again. The rush of summer markets fades, and I find myself nesting — painting, stitching, rearranging, and thinking about what I want the next year to look like.
A Collection Made for the Table
This November feels extra special because I launched something new: my Dinner Party Collection.
It started, as most of my ideas do, with a spark — in this case, the sound of clinking glasses and the smell of roasted garlic. I wanted to make something that captured the art of gathering — the laughter around the table, the candlelight dancing on plates, the unspoken rhythm of sharing food and stories.
The collection includes embroidered aprons, whimsical tea towels, and designs inspired by that perfect dinner party moment — the one where everyone’s still sitting at the table long after the meal ends. There’s a Yes Chef apron stitched with silverware, a tiny tablescape design (complete with plates and glasses), and a champagne coupe illustration that might just be my favorite.
I’ll keep adding to the collection over time — think linens, napkins, maybe even a “Dinner Party Department” tote. Because who doesn’t need a department for that?
New Work, New Spaces
Another pinch-me moment this month: my new abstract pieces are now at House on Lang. That little bungalow has become one of my favorite creative spaces in Orlando — full of artists, makers, and people who genuinely love supporting handmade work.
There’s something grounding about seeing my paintings hanging there — pieces that started in the quiet of my studio, now living in a space that celebrates local art.
And starting this month, I’ll also be teaching embroidery workshops there! It feels like a natural next step — to sit around a table with others, share techniques, and turn thread into something beautiful. These classes will be easygoing and fun — the kind of night where you end up with a handmade piece and a few new friends.
I’ve always believed that creativity grows best when it’s shared. Whether it’s a painting, a stitch, or a conversation, it’s the connection that keeps it all meaningful.
As We Approach the End of the Year
As we approach the end of the year, I’ve been reflecting on how much this Mini Club means to me — and to all of you who have supported it.
What started as a way to paint more consistently has turned into one of the most fulfilling parts of my creative life. Each mini feels like a little conversation — a small painting that travels from my hands to yours, connecting us through art, stories, and the joy of something handmade.
This year, I painted 60 original minis — each one individually created, wrapped, and mailed with love. And while it’s been a beautiful labor of love, I’ve realized that in order to grow (and keep my sanity intact!), next year’s minis will look just a little bit different.
For the 2026 Mini Club, I’ll be offering a mix of originals and fine art prints. This will allow me to create more detailed, intricate watercolor pieces — the kind I’ve been dreaming about but haven’t always had time for with the larger volume of originals. Each print will still be thoughtfully hand-finished with small variations, so every subscriber receives something unique.
This shift will let me pour more creativity and care into each month — and I truly believe it will make the minis even more special.
Join (or Gift!) the 2026 Mini Club
The link to sign up for the 2026 calendar year is now live on my website!
If you’ve been a subscriber, you can renew your spot for another year of monthly art and letters. And if you’ve been thinking about gifting the minis to a friend, this is the perfect time — it’s a gift that truly lasts all year long.
The Comfort of Coziness
This month’s minis are inspired by sweaters — cozy, familiar, and full of texture. There’s something deeply comforting about them — they hold memories in their fibers: winters past, Sunday mornings, coffee runs, quiet hours spent at home.
Each little painting is a reminder to slow down, wrap yourself in something warm, and savor the softness of this season.
Let’s Talk About Comfort
Since November is all about comfort, I’d love to know:
What’s bringing you warmth lately?
Tell me in the comments what you’re reading, listening to, or watching this season. Are you deep in a new novel, rewatching You’ve Got Mail, or listening to Taylor Swift’s Evermore for the hundredth time?
Lately, I’ve been alternating between quiet mornings with The Creative Act by Rick Rubin and long afternoons painting with Maggie Rogers playing in the background. (A truly cozy pairing.)
The Official, Unofficial Thanksgiving Dish Power Rankings
And because I can’t resist a little November humor, here’s my completely unscientific, emotionally biased Thanksgiving ranking:
🥇 Stuffing – The star of the show. Crunchy, salty, perfect.
🥈 Mashed Potatoes – The emotional support side dish we all deserve.
🥉 Cranberry Sauce (from a can) – A nostalgic chaos icon. Wobbly, but loveable.
4️⃣ Pie – Always photogenic, occasionally overachieving.
5️⃣ Green Bean Casserole – A wildcard depending on who made it.
6️⃣ Turkey – Looks better than it tastes, and we all know it.
7️⃣ Sweet Potato Marshmallow Situation – Dessert in disguise. I respect the hustle.
8️⃣ Dinner Rolls – Never the main character, but always the glue.
9️⃣ Gravy – Therapy, but edible.
🔟 Salad – Wrong event.
Now it’s your turn — tell me your top dish or your most controversial Thanksgiving food opinion in the comments. (There are no wrong answers, except maybe dry turkey.)
Looking Ahead
As we close out the year, I’m so thankful for the support, kindness, and creativity this little community continues to bring. The Mini Club has become more than a monthly painting — it’s a shared experience, a quiet reminder to celebrate beauty in the everyday.
Here’s to sweaters, shared meals, and the people who make our lives feel full and warm. And here’s to 2026 — a year of growth, gratitude, and even more art to come.
With love and paint-stained hands,
xx Jessie
