December 2025
A Season of Togetherness
December always feels like a breath you didn’t realize you were holding — a deep exhale into warmth, ritual, and the soft glow of the year’s end. There’s something about this month that invites slowness, yet somehow also fills itself to the brim with activity. It’s the twinkle-light paradox of December: both cozy and busy, both nostalgic and new.
For me, December is a deeply creative month. My studio becomes its own tiny holiday world, piled with thread, watercolor palettes, ornaments, and sketches that scatter like confetti across my desk. The windows stay open for Florida’s version of winter, the softest chill drifting in, and I find myself painting well into the evening because inspiration feels especially alive this time of year.
This month’s minis lean into exactly that — the magic of togetherness, traditions, celebrations, and a brand-new series of hand-painted reindeer that might be my favorite December theme I’ve ever done. They’re whimsical, expressive, full of personality, and both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. In a way, they perfectly capture the spirit of this season: playful, warm, and full of heart.
The Heart of December: Rituals & Togetherness
Growing up, December meant traditions — the kind you count down to. The ornaments we unwrapped each year, the recipes only made in December, the funny mishaps that became stories retold for decades. Even the small rituals felt enormous: choosing the tree, putting on the same playlist, noticing the first house in the neighborhood to hang lights.
As adults, we get to recreate those rituals in our own way. Sometimes we preserve them exactly as we remember them; other times we build brand-new traditions that feel right for the life we’re in now. In many ways, the Mini Subscription has become one of mine — a monthly ritual of creativity, connection, and care. December’s mini always feels like a celebration of that ritual, because it carries such a nostalgic energy. It’s the one people often gift, frame, or display as part of their décor. I always imagine these minis tucked into stockings, pinned to bulletin boards, or sitting beside a candle as part of a holiday vignette.
It’s my hope that each December mini becomes a tiny tradition in itself — a piece of art that sparks memories or marks a moment in time.
A New Series: The Holiday Reindeer 🦌✨
This year, I wanted December’s minis to feel especially whimsical and full of personality. That’s how the reindeer series was born.
These aren’t the typical reindeer you see everywhere — these are my reindeer: sketched, painted, expressive little characters with their own charm. Some have playful antlers; others have sweet, wide-eyed expressions. A few wear bow ties. One has a little string of lights tangled in his antlers. Each one is slightly different, each one with its own identity, and together they feel like a tiny troupe of holiday storytellers.
Painting them has been such a joy — they’re both nostalgic and modern, a little chic, a little whimsical, and very connected to the hand-painted, heartfelt spirit of the Mini Art Club. I’ve been experimenting with soft washes, fine line details, and subtle color changes to make each reindeer feel like its own character. I love imagining which one will be your favorite or which one will make you smile the moment you open your envelope.
The reindeer series feels like the perfect match for December — playful, cozy, and full of warmth. I hope you love them as much as I’ve loved creating them.
Holiday Market at House on Lang 🎄
One of the most special parts of December is being able to connect in person with so many of you. This month, I’ll be at House on Lang hosting a holiday market, and it’s truly one of my favorite events all year. If you need last-minute gifts, something handmade, something personal, or just want to stroll through a beautifully curated shop with a hot drink in hand, this is the place to be.
I’ll be bringing:
new embroidery pieces
hand-painted small artworks
framed minis
holiday items
and a few surprise one-of-a-kind pieces
House on Lang has such a cozy, creative energy — especially in December when everything feels festive and full of spirit. I love talking about the process behind each piece, helping you find the perfect gift for someone special, and just seeing your faces in real life. There’s something grounding about being in the same physical space as the people who support my work all year long.
If you’re local to Orlando, I’d love to see you there. If you’re not, know that I’ll be sharing plenty of photos and behind-the-scenes peeks online so you can be part of it too.
New Embroidery & Ongoing Creative Projects
December tends to be one of my most creatively abundant months. Inspiration feels abundant — maybe it’s the cozy atmosphere, the holiday nostalgia, or the excitement of a new year approaching. This month, I’ve been working on several new embroidery pieces that I can’t wait to share. Some are festive, some are more evergreen, all of them full of tiny details and hand-stitched personality.
Embroidery feels especially meaningful this time of year. It’s slow, intentional, and tactile — every stitch is a moment of presence. It makes a beautiful gift because it carries the rhythm of the hands that made it.
Between embroidery sessions, I’ve also been painting small works and sketching ideas for the new year. My studio feels like a mix of threads, paintbrushes, and notes for upcoming projects — a wonderful, slightly chaotic creative hive.
A Gift That Lasts All Year: The 2026 Mini Subscription
This time of year, one of my most-asked questions is:
“Can I gift the Mini Subscription?”
Yes — and it makes such a special, meaningful gift.
The Mini Subscription is truly a year-long experience. Each month, the recipient gets a piece of original art delivered to their mailbox — a sweet, thoughtful reminder of you long after the holiday season ends. It’s a little tradition built month by month, a surprise that continues through the year.
And if you (or someone you love) wants to join next year’s cycle, 2026 sign-ups are already open. You can join at any time, and gift cards are available for anyone who’d love to start the new year with creativity arriving right to their doorstep.
I’ve already begun imagining themes and sketches for the 2026 minis — a mix of florals, seasonal moments, coastal touches, surprising subjects, and the kind of whimsy that has become a signature of this project.
It’s truly the gift that arrives again and again.
A Heartfelt Thank You
As 2025 comes to a close, I want to say thank you — deeply, sincerely. Every order, every message, every encouraging word, every market visit, every moment you share my work with a friend… it’s all part of the reason I get to do what I love.
This little art business is something I’ve built with my hands and my heart, and I never take for granted the community that gathers around it. You’ve made the Minis more than a project — you’ve made them a tradition.
I hope this month’s reindeer mini brings joy to your home and reminds you of the warmth of the season. I hope December gives you space to rest, connect, celebrate, and create your own beautiful moments. And I hope the coming year brings wonder, inspiration, and everything that feels aligned and bright.
Thank you for being part of my world.
With love,
Jessie 🎄🦌✨
